Lourenço Veiga's late challenge caught a SC Arrega's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lourenço Veiga helped the player get up and apologised. Manuel Gomes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sandro Matias in the 7th minute of the match. Cruzetinhos FC's Alexandre Amorim got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in SC Arrega's zone, Sandro Matias stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manuel Gomes came out of the goal and Sandro Matias tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 20 minutes, Alexandre Amorim managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cruzetinhos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexandre Amorim was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. SC Arrega's Oliveira Viana got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of SC Arrega booed when Cruzetinhos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lourenço Veiga didn't get a good kick on the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sandro Matias made a kick off. Alexandre Amorim recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Alexandre Amorim came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Cruzetinhos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexandre Amorim couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Cruzetinhos FC booed when SC Arrega was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gonçalo Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Sandro Matias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Oliveira Viana kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Vasco Sousa. That made the score 0-2 in the 64 minute of play. When André Castro fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Arrega's protests and gave André Castro a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Cruzetinhos FC booed when SC Arrega was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. André Castro didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 72nd minute of the match Bento Figueiredo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Manuel Gomes skillfully saved the ball. Joaquim Ramos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Vasco Sousa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sandro Matias struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Manuel Gomes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cruzetinhos FC. When Cruzetinhos FC's Sandro Matias in the 85th minute got a chance for a shot 85th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The SC Arrega players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
