Vasco Sousa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 7th minute Sandro Matias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oliveira Domingues saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If David Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Oliveira Domingues showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sandro Matias, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. An unexpected shot in the 14th minute by Sandro Matias got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Oliveira Domingues showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sandro Matias in the 22nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Cruzetinhos FC's zone, Basílio Assis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vasco Sousa came out of the goal and Basílio Assis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 24 minutes, Alexandre Amorim managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cruzetinhos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexandre Amorim was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mourisco's Oliveira Domingues played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sandro Matias in the 27th minute of play. Amílcar Dias kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. After 31 played minutes, Cruzetinhos FC's Bento Figueiredo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Oliveira Domingues came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Cruzetinhos FC reached it. Basílio Assis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell David Sousa to make the kick off. Basílio Assis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Vasco Sousa made a huge save. Basílio Assis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Alexandre Amorim managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cruzetinhos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alexandre Amorim was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oliveira Domingues breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Basílio Assis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Vasco Sousa made a huge save. 72 minutes into the match, Cruzetinhos FC's goal looked a bit too open when David Sousa came free, but Vasco Sousa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mourisco's Amílcar Dias suffered a concussion in the 76th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Lourenço Veiga's late challenge caught a Mourisco's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lourenço Veiga helped the player get up and apologised. Lourenço Veiga hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Cruzetinhos FC defense, Basílio Assis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vasco Sousa. The Cruzetinhos FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vasco Sousa should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Mourisco's Filipe Neves got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Alexandre Amorim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Oliveira Domingues showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexandre Amorim, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. If Basílio Assis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
