Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Valinhos FC's António Nascimento started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Vicente Lisboa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexandre Setúbal having to interfere. SC Alcoitao's Bruno Sá got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vicente Lisboa in the 11th minute of play forced Valinhos FC's goalkeeper Alexandre Setúbal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 13 minutes into the match, Valinhos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bruno Sá came free, but Alexandre Setúbal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Bruno Sá had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valinhos FC's Alexandre Setúbal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruno Sá in the 17th minute of play. When SC Alcoitao's Vicente Lisboa in the 21st minute got a chance for a shot 21st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Valinhos FC's goalie prevented a goal. After having played for 32 minutes, Vicente Lisboa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Alcoitao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vicente Lisboa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Valinhos FC's Adolfo Soares got a free kick in the 33rd minute. When SC Alcoitao's Bruno Sá in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Valinhos FC's goalie prevented a goal. The audience was convinced that António Nascimento's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but André Coelho was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in SC Alcoitao's zone, António Nascimento stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. André Coelho came out of the goal and António Nascimento tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alexandre Setúbal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruno Sá in the 43rd minute of play. Alexandre Setúbal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vicente Lisboa, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Manuel Castro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 49th minute. André Coelho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Alexandre Setúbal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bruno Sá in the 55th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bruno Sá got free with Alexandre Setúbal in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Through an outstanding action, after 70 minutes, Alexandre Setúbal successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After a defensive mix-up in SC Alcoitao's zone, António Nascimento stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. André Coelho came out of the goal and António Nascimento tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Valinhos FC getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Manuel Castro hit a great ball. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Valinhos FC's goalkeeper Alexandre Setúbal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 80 minutes into the game, Adolfo Soares was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Valinhos FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Alcoitao the free kick. The supporters of SC Alcoitao booed when Valinhos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adolfo Soares didn't get a good kick on the ball. António Nascimento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. André Coelho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Manuel Castro struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. André Coelho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Valinhos FC. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
