Eduardo Pacheco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Eduardo Pacheco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alexandre Setúbal was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. Alexandre Setúbal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eduardo Pacheco's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, António Nascimento managed to get in a good position for a shot. Valinhos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but António Nascimento was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Óscar Guarda breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mazarefes FC's Lourenço Teixeira got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 36th minute, André Freitas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lourenço Teixeira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alexandre Setúbal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. Manuel Castro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Óscar Guarda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Mazarefes FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Valinhos FC were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell António Nascimento to make the kick off. Alexandre Setúbal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lourenço Teixeira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Manuel Castro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Óscar Guarda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Óscar Guarda was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but António Nascimento showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-2 in the 88 minute of play. Lucas Torres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
