Vítor Bessa's late challenge caught a SC Pobral's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vítor Bessa helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of SC Pobral booed when Codecais was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vítor Bessa didn't get a good kick on the ball. The long shot by Jorge Porto in the 24th minute really tested Humberto Baptista's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Rui Soares didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from David Assis went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rui Soares made an important save on a dangerous shot by David Assis in the 73rd minute. Codecais's David Assis got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jacinto Carvalho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rui Soares having to make a save. Vasco Araújo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Humberto Baptista read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Codecais fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 81st minute. Penalty! The referee gave SC Pobral a penalty, 83 minutes into the game. Vasco Araújo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 96 minutes, Jorge Valente mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Codecais and the SC Pobral players grew even worse after the yellow card.
