In the 4th match minute, Melao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vasco Sousa to maneuver through the defense. When Hugo Coimbra came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Maganha FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hugo Coimbra couldn't finish the play. Pedro Torres made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hugo Coimbra in the 12th minute of play. A collision led to Maganha FC getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Vasco Henriques hit a great ball. Rui Nunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Maganha FC's goalkeeper Carlos Araújo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, Melao's Pedro Torres got control of the ball when Rui Nunes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Melao's Fernando Fernandes got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for José Trindade to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Vasco Henriques hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 65 minutes into the game, José Trindade recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Carlos Araújo. José Trindade showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. Melao's Pedro Torres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hugo Coimbra in the 69th minute of play. If Fernando Fernandes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Hugo Coimbra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Pedro Torres tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Maganha FC's Rui Nunes got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pedro Oliveira's late challenge caught a Maganha FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pedro Oliveira helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Melao's Pedro Oliveira got a free kick in the 80th minute. 82 minutes into the match, Melao's goal looked a bit too open when Rui Nunes came free, but Pedro Torres reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Maganha FC's Carlos Araújo got control of the ball when Fernando Fernandes tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 89th minute, Tiago Leal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Trindade in the 91st minute of play forced Maganha FC's goalkeeper Carlos Araújo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 91 minutes of play, Melao's José Trindade made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Carlos Araújo was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Fernando Fernandes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Melao had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
