After 22 played minutes, SC Salgueiro's Artur Domingues shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Diogo Fonseca came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SC Salgueiro reached it. After 23 minutes, André Correia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Cacarelhos and the SC Salgueiro players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 23rd match minute, SC Cacarelhos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by André Correia to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in SC Salgueiro's zone, Sérgio Gonçalves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. António Veiga came out of the goal and Sérgio Gonçalves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pedro Matos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gaspar Santarém fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diogo Fonseca having to interfere. The goalkeeper, António Veiga, was totally fooled by SC Cacarelhos's Nuno Nascimento, who 54 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Pedro Matos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Diogo Fonseca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gaspar Santarém in the 59th minute of the match. After having played for 64 minutes, Delfim Viana managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Cacarelhos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Delfim Viana was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. António Veiga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sérgio Gonçalves, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Delfim Viana came free with the goalkeeper in the 74th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and António Veiga could save by the left post. Gaspar Santarém struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Diogo Fonseca didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Salgueiro. In the 82nd minute, Gaspar Santarém got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Delfim Viana recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sérgio Gonçalves's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but António Veiga read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. 98 minutes into the match, Pedro Matos notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of SC Cacarelhos's Diogo Fonseca. Diogo Fonseca was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The SC Cacarelhos supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SC Cacarelhos would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
