But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gabriel Nunes couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Gabriel Nunes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pedro Bessa was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. Pedro Bessa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabriel Nunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Sendim FC's Fernando Matos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Sendim FC from getting a goal against them. António Viana took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 24th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Fernando Matos. Sendim FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, Sendim FC's Augusto Barros got a free kick in the 25th minute. António Viana took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 32nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Fernando Matos. Sendim FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. João Dantas might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fernando Matos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. João Dantas ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 36th minute, Jorge Simões made a precise shot to the right of Fernando Matos. Sendim FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After a rather tough play, Sendim FC's Gabriel Nunes got a free kick in the 39th minute. João Dantas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Dantas in the 48th minute of play forced Sendim FC's goalkeeper Fernando Matos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and João Dantas made a kick off. Sendim FC's Fernando Matos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorge Simões in the 52nd minute of play. Vicente Campos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
