Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luís Setúbal to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute Luís Setúbal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquim Martins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Esturaos's Alfredo Ferreira got a free kick in the 57th minute. Lombas's André Pinheiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raul Delgado in the 62nd minute of play. 66 minutes into the game, Bernardo Fonseca was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Esturaos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lombas the free kick. The supporters of Lombas booed when Esturaos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernardo Fonseca didn't get a good kick on the ball. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
