Ventureira FC's Armindo Simões played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquim Miranda in the 3rd minute of play. If Fernando Viegas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fernando Viegas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Carlos Borges made a huge save. Joaquim Miranda charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joaquim Miranda the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Calhetas getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Joaquim Miranda hit a great ball. Joaquim Miranda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Calhetas booed when Ventureira FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomás Melo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Armindo Simões made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joaquim Miranda in the 26th minute of play. In the 29th minute, Ventureira FC's Oliveira Ribeiro dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oliveira Ribeiro in the 31st minute of play forced Calhetas's goalkeeper Carlos Borges to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32nd minute, Inácio Fontes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Oliveira Ribeiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 36th minute, Joaquim Miranda left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Calhetas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Fernando Viegas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ventureira FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Fernando Viegas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Borges breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Oliveira Ribeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fernando Viegas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Carlos Borges tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joaquim Miranda to make the kick off. Ventureira FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 54th minute, when Fernando Gonçalves scored to the left of an out of position Armindo Simões, making the score, 1-2. Joaquim Miranda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Armindo Simões tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Calhetas's Carlos Borges played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oliveira Ribeiro in the 67th minute of play. During the 68th minute of the match Inácio Fontes completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Inácio Fontes a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Ventureira FC booed when Calhetas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Inácio Fontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Calhetas's zone, Fernando Viegas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Borges came out of the goal and Fernando Viegas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Carlos Borges stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Oliveira Ribeiro's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. Calhetas's Carlos Borges played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oliveira Ribeiro in the 74th minute of play. Fernando Gonçalves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Armindo Simões tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Augusto Antunes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Armindo Simões having to make a save. If Fernando Viegas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ventureira FC's Fernando Viegas got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Calhetas had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
