When Lúcio Leão fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fraguas's protests and gave Lúcio Leão a yellow card for diving instead. In the 5th minute, Lúcio Leão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Júlio Amaral made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when António Henriques sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Gandufe FC getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Sérgio Leão hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Gandufe FC's zone, Manuel Gueifão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Júlio Amaral came out of the goal and Manuel Gueifão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 13th match minute, Gandufe FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricardo Reis to maneuver through the defense. Sérgio Leão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fábio Baptista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fábio Baptista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sérgio Leão having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Fraguas's Fernando Morais got a free kick in the 26th minute. Bento Vale recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Gandufe FC's Júlio Amaral got control of the ball when António Henriques tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gandufe FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 34th minute, when Manuel Gueifão scored to the left of an out of position Júlio Amaral, making the score, 1-0. Júlio Amaral made an important save on a dangerous shot by António Henriques in the 39th minute. Ricardo Reis kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When João Gonçalves fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gandufe FC's protests and gave João Gonçalves a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 52nd minute of the game. One of Gandufe FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Fraguas:s goal. The referee gave Fraguas a penalty, 54 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Lúcio Monteiro, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Gandufe FC's Júlio Amaral. 2-0. 59 minutes into the match, Fraguas's goal looked a bit too open when Fábio Baptista came free, but Sérgio Leão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by António Henriques in the 61st minute of play forced Gandufe FC's goalkeeper Júlio Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bento Vales short, quick shot in the 65thth minute got Sérgio Leão to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 69 minutes into the match, Gandufe FC's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Gueifão came free, but Júlio Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 77 minutes Fraguas's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Vítor Vale who took care of the corner kick. At last the ball reached Ricardo Reis at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Fraguas. 2-1. After 82 minutes, Adelino Cunha mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fraguas and the Gandufe FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Adelino Cunha kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Fraguas's Sérgio Leão proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Fraguas from getting a goal against them.
