Augusto Marques showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raul Paiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Raul Paiva's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Augusto Marques read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. Raul Paiva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Augusto Marques tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Emanuel Cardoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armando Amorim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emanuel Cardoso was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from David Resende. 36 minutes into the match, SC Frioes's goal looked a bit too open when Armando Amorim came free, but Emanuel Cardoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Senouras FC's zone, Raul Paiva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Augusto Marques came out of the goal and Raul Paiva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Armando Amorim to make the kick off. In the 51st match minute, SC Frioes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by António Santarém to maneuver through the defense. Senouras FC's Augusto Marques proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Senouras FC from getting a goal against them.
