In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Varejeira's goalkeeper Pedro Henriques, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. SC Varejeira's Pedro Henriques played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexandre Gomes in the 18th minute of play. Alexandre Gomes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alexandre Gomes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Henriques having to interfere. After 43 played minutes SC Varejeira got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Marques. An unexpectedly hard shot by André Coelho in the 44th minute of play forced SC Varejeira's goalkeeper Pedro Henriques to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

After a defensive mix-up in Cabacos FC's zone, David Carvalho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alexandre Monteiro came out of the goal and David Carvalho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Filipe Costa placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Alexandre Monteiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viriato Nunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. When Tiago Porto fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Varejeira's protests and gave Tiago Porto a yellow card for diving instead. Tiago Porto hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. André Coelho hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. After 70 played minutes Cabacos FC got a freekick which was hit by Júlio Aleixo. Pedro Henriques was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from António Vaz. Júlio Veiga hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. 80 minutes into the match, SC Varejeira's Filipe Costa broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After 83 minutes, Inácio Borges mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cabacos FC and the SC Varejeira players grew even worse after the yellow card. Alexandre Monteiro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Viriato Nunes's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. In the 86th minute, António Vaz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 89th minute Viriato Nunes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexandre Monteiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alexandre Monteiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viriato Nunes in the 91st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, SC Varejeira's Diogo Pedroso got a free kick in the 96th minute. André Coelho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Henriques having to interfere. Cabacos FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
