Eiriz's defense didn't have a chance, in the 33rd minute, when José Silva scored to the left of an out of position Rui Simões, making the score, 1-1. Marco Oliveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rui Simões having to interfere. Marco Oliveira struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Rui Simões didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Estefania. Miguel Queirós charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Miguel Queirós the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Eiriz's Álvaro Brás pulled a muscle in his leg after 54 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Afonso Amaro fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Estefania's protests and gave Afonso Amaro a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to SC Estefania getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Afonso Amaro hit a great ball. The audience held their breath when Afonso Oliveira in the 56th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Rui Fernandes's left hand side. The supporters of Eiriz booed when SC Estefania was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Lisboa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomás Pires's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rui Fernandes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. Rui Simões made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Oliveira in the 97th minute of play.
