Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Lanhas FC's Bento Silva started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lucas Cabral in the 6th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Armando Simões prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 9th minute, Giesteira FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Bento Silva fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 11 minutes into the match, Giesteira FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bento Silva came free, but Fábio Faro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 16th minute Diamantino Freitas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armando Simões saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Giesteira FC's Fábio Faro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bento Silva in the 21st minute of play. Bento Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Fábio Faro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fábio Faro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lúcio Pires went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Lucas Cabral managed to get in a good position for a shot. Giesteira FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Lucas Cabral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Armando Simões breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 38 minutes into the match, Giesteira FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bento Silva came free, but Fábio Faro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lanhas FC's Lúcio Pires got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lúcio Pires sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 44th minute, Lanhas FC's Bento Silva ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Fábio Faro. Fábio Faro yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Luís Antunes scored 2-1 in the 49th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Armando Simões, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Diamantino Freitas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Lucas Cabral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 61st minute Lucas Freitas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armando Simões saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fábio Faro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lúcio Pires, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Giesteira FC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Lucas Freitas hit a great ball. If Bento Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot by Alfredo Gonçalves from long distance, 71 minutes into the match, got Armando Simões's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Bento Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nuno Gueifão during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 76 played minutes Lanhas FC got a freekick which was hit by Nuno Gueifão. Armando Simões showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diamantino Freitas, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. In the 82nd minute of the match Luís Nunes sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fábio Faro skillfully saved the ball. Bento Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Fábio Faro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Lanhas FC booed when Giesteira FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo Branco didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 92nd minute, Bento Silva left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lanhas FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. Luís Antunes charged in rather forcefully in the 97th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luís Antunes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Giesteira FC's Luís Antunes got a free kick in the 97th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Lanhas FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Giesteira FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
