The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jorge Amaro's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 4thth minute, Júlio Trindade skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Nuno Correia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but João Carneiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. SC Romae's João Carneiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abel Correia in the 13th minute of play. João Carneiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nuno Correia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19th match minute, SC Romae was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filipe Garcia to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Abel Correia in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck João Carneiro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jacinto Lima hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. If Abel Correia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Nuno Correia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee felt a red card was in order, 37 minutes into the game, when Marco Carvalho put in a rough tackle. Jorge Amaro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half SC Mazarefes were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Abel Correia to strike the kick off in the second half. João Carneiro made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Nuno Correia sent off a good shot on target. In the 61st minute of the match, Abel Correia tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but João Carneiro saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 63 minutes into the game, Heitor Dantas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Romae's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Mazarefes the free kick. After 63 played minutes SC Romae got a freekick which was hit by Heitor Dantas. After 67 played minutes SC Mazarefes got a freekick which was hit by Emanuel Pinheiro. If Jorge Amaro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 73 minutes into the game, SC Romae's Jorge Amaro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Júlio Trindade made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Júlio Trindade stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jorge Amaro's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Abel Correia during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 82 minutes into the match, SC Mazarefes's goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Amaro came free, but Júlio Trindade reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jacinto Lima charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jacinto Lima the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but João Carneiro showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Abel Correia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The SC Mazarefes players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented SC Romae from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
