Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Eusébio Soares made the kick off and thus started the match. Jacinto Branco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eusébio Soares in the 5th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, António Viegas managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Arnoia's supporters rose to their feet, but António Viegas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jorge Jesus breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jorge Jesus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Ferreira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. António Viegas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Gustavo Vieira came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Covancas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gustavo Vieira couldn't finish the play. If Domingos Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Domingos Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Jacinto Branco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jacinto Branco made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Domingos Santos sent off a good shot on target. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

After a defensive mix-up in SC Arnoia's zone, Eusébio Soares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jacinto Branco came out of the goal and Eusébio Soares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Covancas getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Daniel Matos hit a great ball. The audience thought it was a sure goal in the 85th minute, when SC Arnoia's António Pereira after having done a great run through the defense got himself free with Jorge Jesus in Covancas's goal and fired away a shot, but it missed the goal by a fraction of an inch. Jorge Magalhães's late challenge caught a SC Arnoia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jorge Magalhães helped the player get up and apologised. In the 87th minute, Jorge Magalhães hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. SC Arnoia's António Viegas got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. SC Arnoia's Lúcio Garcia got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 97th minute, Pedro Moutinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
