Gaspar Guerreiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henrique Brito in the 17th minute of play. After a rather tough play, SC Giesteira's Afonso Paiva got a free kick in the 20th minute. When Hélder Cardoso fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Cartaxaria's protests and gave Hélder Cardoso a yellow card for diving instead. After 21 played minutes SC Cartaxaria got a freekick which was hit by Hélder Cardoso. Carlos Henriques received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Domingos Resende tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an all-out effort, SC Cartaxaria's Domingos Resende threw himself towards the right post 27 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Hélder Cardoso, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 29 played minutes, SC Cartaxaria's Cláudio Santarém shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Domingos Resende came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SC Cartaxaria reached it. In the 38th minute Henrique Brito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gaspar Guerreiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Henrique Brito to make the kick off. Miguel Pinho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Gaspar Guerreiro made a huge save. Alfredo Torres's late challenge caught a SC Giesteira's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alfredo Torres helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to SC Cartaxaria getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Alfredo Torres hit a great ball. 0-1 became the score in the 63rd minute when Henrique Brito elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Miguel Pinho struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Gaspar Guerreiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Giesteira. If Miguel Pinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Henrique Brito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gaspar Guerreiro having to interfere. In the 74th minute, Hélder Cardoso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. António Moura kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Cláudio Borges missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 81 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Gaspar Guerreiro right hand side. If Henrique Brito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Domingos Resende made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hélder Cardoso in the 85th minute of play. Henrique Brito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 92 minutes into the game, Miguel Pinho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Gaspar Guerreiro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 97th minute Carlos Henriques shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Domingos Resende saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
