After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Lourenço Jesus managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cartaxaria FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Lourenço Jesus was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jorge Barros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lourenço Jesus might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jorge Barros. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lourenço Jesus ran back to his position shaking his head. Cartaxaria FC's Rui Aleixo got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Hélder Setúbal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 17th minute, Vasco Pinheiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Daniel Antunes fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Corsas FC's protests and gave Daniel Antunes a yellow card for diving instead. In the 20th match minute, Corsas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Antunes to maneuver through the defense. In the game's 21st minute Cartaxaria FC's Armando Veiga took a hard shot from long distance, a kick which went into the net just to the right of Jorge Barros and thus the score was 0-1. In the 25th minute, Rui Aleixo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jorge Barros was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Bernardo Dantas's late challenge caught a Cartaxaria FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bernardo Dantas helped the player get up and apologised. In the 28th match minute, Corsas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernardo Dantas to maneuver through the defense. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bernardo Dantas couldn't finish the play. Bento Cruz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hélder Setúbal in the 37th minute of play. Corsas FC's Jorge Barros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rui Aleixo in the 39th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rui Aleixo in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jorge Barros saved Corsas FC from getting behind. Rui Aleixo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Jorge Barros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rui Aleixo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jorge Barros having to make a save. The Cartaxaria FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Cartaxaria FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
