Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Joel Domingues started the match with the kick off. The supporters of Fojos booed when SC Marateca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. António Abreu didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Fojos's José Leal slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Carlos Rocha. That made the score 1-0 after 3 minutes of play. Jorge Figueiredo's late challenge caught a SC Marateca's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jorge Figueiredo helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Fojos's Jorge Figueiredo got a free kick in the 5th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Fojos's zone, Alexandre Silva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Júlio Mota came out of the goal and Alexandre Silva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Joel Domingues might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Júlio Mota. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joel Domingues ran back to his position shaking his head. Júlio Mota showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Domingues in the 8th minute of the match. If Alexandre Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. José Leal struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Carlos Rocha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fojos. Humberto Pinto's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 15thth minute, Carlos Rocha skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After some careless play in the SC Marateca defense, José Leal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Carlos Rocha. The SC Marateca fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carlos Rocha should have stopped the shot. Júlio Mota made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Domingues in the 30th minute of play. If Jorge Figueiredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Humberto Pinto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Carlos Rocha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joel Domingues might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Júlio Mota. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joel Domingues ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 42nd match minute, Fojos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adolfo Oliveira to maneuver through the defense.

When Humberto Pinto came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Fojos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Humberto Pinto couldn't finish the play. 60 minutes into the match, SC Marateca's goal looked a bit too open when Adolfo Oliveira came free, but Carlos Rocha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alexandre Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Júlio Mota having to interfere. After having played for 69 minutes, Humberto Pinto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fojos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Humberto Pinto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Carlos Rocha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adolfo Oliveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alexandre Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Júlio Mota having to interfere. In the 88th minute of the match, Joel Domingues tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Júlio Mota saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 91st minute José Leal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Rocha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 97 minutes into the match, SC Marateca's goal looked a bit too open when Humberto Pinto came free, but Carlos Rocha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
