Simoes's Hélder Araújo got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 30 minutes, Albertino Leite managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mourisia FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Albertino Leite was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Amílcar Leite who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 32ndth minute tested the skills of Paulo Miranda when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Simoes's Bento Rodrigues got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 44th minute, Joaquim Porto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fernando Neves charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fernando Neves the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Simoes getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Fernando Neves hit a great ball. In the 63rd minute Amílcar Leite shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Miranda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 65 minutes, Albertino Leite managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 69 minutes of play Simoes's Fernando Neves was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Mourisia FC booed when Simoes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernando Neves didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 75th minute, Amílcar Leite ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Paulo Miranda was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. In the 82nd minute, Bruno Gaspar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 86th minute, but José Pires got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Mourisia FC hanging dry this time. Amílcar Leite's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Paulo Miranda read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. Simoes's Paulo Miranda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amílcar Leite in the 92nd minute of play. 96 minutes into the match, Bento Rodrigues dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of José Pires, 2-1.
