In the 5th minute Gustavo Viegas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amílcar Cardoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Piares's Júlio Monteiro got control of the ball when Henrique Gueifão tried to sneak it across the goal line. 9 minutes into the match, Jacinto Figueiredo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Júlio Monteiro, 1-0. Amílcar Cardoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustavo Viegas in the 17th minute of the match. Henrique Gueifão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 54th play minute Gustavo Viegas came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Amílcar Cardoso. 1-1. Henrique Gueifão's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Júlio Monteiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. 63 minutes into the match, Pedros's goalkeeper Amílcar Cardoso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gustavo Viegas. The supporters of Pedros booed when Piares was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Faria didn't get a good kick on the ball. Amílcar Cardoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vasco Alves in the 93rd minute of play. Jacinto Figueiredo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Júlio Monteiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
