When the match clock showed 3 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Hélder Leite sped through SC Pousadinha's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Sandro Machado. Rui Magalhães sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hélder Leite who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 10thth minute tested the skills of Sandro Machado when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fábio Figueiredo got free with Sandro Machado in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sandro Machado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fábio Figueiredo in the 14th minute of the match. Sandro Machado made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Hélder Leite sent off a good shot on target. When SC Pousadinha's António Anjos in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rui Magalhães in the 38th minute of play forced Sesimbra FC's goalkeeper Alexandre Magalhães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alexandre Magalhães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rui Magalhães in the 39th minute of play. In the 41st minute, Rui Magalhães ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alexandre Magalhães was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by José Nascimento during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 65th minute, Jorge Guerreiro sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Sesimbra FC's Alexandre Magalhães didn't even have to move. 67 minutes into the match, SC Pousadinha's goal looked a bit too open when Fábio Figueiredo came free, but Sandro Machado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 72 minutes, Nuno Nunes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Pousadinha and the Sesimbra FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, SC Pousadinha's Nuno Nunes got a free kick in the 72nd minute.
