The tension between the Tarei and the Menexas FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Lucas Magalhães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustavo Abreu in the 7th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristóvão Paredes in the 8th minute of play forced Menexas FC's goalkeeper Jorge Pinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristóvão Paredes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Pinho having to interfere. 15 minutes into the match, Tarei's goalkeeper Lucas Magalhães had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gustavo Abreu. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Lucas Magalhães, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Jorge Pinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristóvão Paredes in the 32nd minute of play. When Rodrigo Borba came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Tarei fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rodrigo Borba couldn't finish the play. In the 47th match minute, Menexas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Setúbal to maneuver through the defense. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Lucas Magalhães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Artur Valente in the 52nd minute of play. Jorge Pinho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Amadeu Luz's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. In the 60th minute, Gustavo Abreu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Amadeu Luz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 70 minutes into the match, Tarei's goal looked a bit too open when Artur Valente came free, but Lucas Magalhães reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 73 minutes into the match, Tarei's António Freitas broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Tarei's goalkeeper Lucas Magalhães, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 88th match minute, Tarei was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by André Luz to maneuver through the defense. If Gustavo Abreu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Menexas FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Tarei had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
