To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 7 minutes into the match, Beira FC's goalkeeper José Pires had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gil Santos. Duarte Borba's late challenge caught a Idanha's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Duarte Borba helped the player get up and apologised. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Gil Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Idanha's supporters rose to their feet, but Gil Santos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Pires breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. José Pires made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oliveira Garcia in the 17th minute of play. Oliveira Garcia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. José Pires tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gil Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Oliveira Garcia stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Beira FC getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Joaquim Borba hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Gil Santos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but José Pires was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. In the 70th match minute, Beira FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by António Brás to maneuver through the defense. José Pires stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Oliveira Garcia's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. In the 78th minute, Oliveira Garcia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. António Brás kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. 84 minutes into the match, Beira FC's goal looked a bit too open when Oliveira Garcia came free, but José Pires reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 91st minute of the game. One of Beira FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Idanha:s goal. The Idanha supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Beira FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Beira FC.
