Vítor Pereira might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Paulo Almeida. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vítor Pereira ran back to his position shaking his head. Fernando Teixeira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paulo Almeida stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vítor Pereira's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. Viriato Coelho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gil Neves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, José Araújo managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Segirem's supporters rose to their feet, but José Araújo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Viriato Coelho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Henrique Garcia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Viriato Coelho having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Henrique Garcia made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Vítor Pereira managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Recreio's supporters rose to their feet, but Vítor Pereira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulo Almeida breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 1-0 became the score in the 54th minute when Henrique Garcia elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. José Araújo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. José Araújo struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Viriato Coelho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Segirem. 67 minutes into the match, SC Segirem's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Teixeira came free, but Paulo Almeida reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Viriato Coelho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Henrique Garcia's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. After 73 minutes, Filipe Cruz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Recreio and the SC Segirem players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 73 played minutes SC Recreio got a freekick which was hit by Filipe Cruz. 76 minutes into the match, José Araújo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Viriato Coelho. SC Recreio's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that José Araújo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. In the 82nd match minute, SC Recreio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Ferro to maneuver through the defense. In the 83rd minute Henrique Garcia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Viriato Coelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fernando Teixeira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Vítor Pereira, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 93 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Paulo Almeida was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 94 minutes into the match, SC Segirem's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Teixeira came free, but Paulo Almeida reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Viriato Coelho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Araújo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. SC Recreio's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
