The supporters of Passarela booed when Bonitos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Afonso Moura didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 8 minutes, Alfredo Martins took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Rodrigo Torres to make any attempt to save it. After some careless play in the Passarela defense, Xavier Machado kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rodrigo Nunes. The Passarela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rodrigo Nunes should have stopped the shot. Xavier Machado struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Rodrigo Nunes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bonitos FC. In the 20th match minute, Bonitos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Campos to maneuver through the defense. Passarela's Nuno Bessa couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 24th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Bonitos FC. A collision led to Bonitos FC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Afonso Moura hit a great ball. Afonso Moura's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rodrigo Nunes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xavier Machado in the 44th minute of play forced Passarela's goalkeeper Rodrigo Nunes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Xavier Machado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
The wind increased when Alfredo Martins made the kick off in the second half. In the 57th match minute, Passarela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Óscar Fontes to maneuver through the defense. Xavier Machado struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Rodrigo Torres breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 61 minutes into the game, Manuel Anjos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bonitos FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Passarela the free kick. In the 63rd minute, Miguel Campos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alfredo Martins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodrigo Torres having to interfere. Afonso Moura recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 70th minute, Rogério Moreira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Passarela's Óscar Fontes suffered a sore thigh after 71 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After a rather tough play, Bonitos FC's Manuel Anjos got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Alfredo Martins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Rodrigo Torres tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Rogério Moreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
