The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Delfim Mendes fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Zebreiros's protests and gave Delfim Mendes a yellow card for diving instead. Delfim Mendes hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, SC Pousade's Oliveira Gonçalves tried to score from far away in the 5th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 7th minute, Pedro Araújo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Pousade fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 14 minutes into the match, SC Zebreiros's Alexandre Veiga broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Heitor Ramos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joaquim Pinto in the 23rd minute of play. The supporters of SC Pousade booed when SC Zebreiros was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Paiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bernardo Araújo got free with Emílio Fonseca in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 33rd minute Rafael Cruz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emílio Fonseca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Cristiano Coelho charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cristiano Coelho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Cristiano Coelho hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joaquim Pinto in the 47th minute of play forced SC Zebreiros's goalkeeper Heitor Ramos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joaquim Pinto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Joaquim Pinto recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Heitor Ramos. SC Zebreiros's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rafael Cruz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Bernardo Araújo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. SC Zebreiros's Heitor Ramos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adelino Ribeiro in the 79th minute of play. After a rather tough play, SC Zebreiros's Alexandre Veiga got a free kick in the 83rd minute. 84 minutes into the match, SC Zebreiros's goal looked a bit too open when Joaquim Pinto came free, but Heitor Ramos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 86thth minute of the game Joaquim Pinto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Zebreiros's Heitor Ramos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The SC Zebreiros supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching SC Pousade's performance. The match ended with a win for SC Pousade.
