João Baptista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. SC Firvidas's Heitor Moreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaime Fernandes in the 5th minute of play. João Baptista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Heitor Moreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match clock showed 10 minutes, the score became 0-1 when João Baptista sped through SC Firvidas's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Heitor Moreira. If Jaime Fernandes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 18th minute, Gabriel Moreira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Baptista in the 20th minute of play forced SC Firvidas's goalkeeper Heitor Moreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. SC Gavieira's Jaime Fernandes got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 32nd minute João Baptista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Heitor Moreira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gonçalo Lisboa came free with the goalkeeper in the 37th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Rui Pinto could save by the left post. When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, Gonçalo Lisboa took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Rui Pinto to make any attempt to save it. SC Firvidas's Heitor Moreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albertino Pinheiro in the 43rd minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for João Guerreiro to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Baptista in the 53rd minute of play forced SC Firvidas's goalkeeper Heitor Moreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If João Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Heitor Moreira came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by SC Gavieira's Jaime Fernandes. But to his dismay, Jaime Fernandes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Rui Pinto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Guerreiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. João Baptista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, João Guerreiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Firvidas's supporters rose to their feet, but João Guerreiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rui Pinto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gonçalo Lisboa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Rui Pinto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Jaime Fernandes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 96 minutes into the game, Eduardo Lisboa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-4. Rui Pinto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. SC Gavieira played a much better game than SC Firvidas and deserved their victory. The SC Firvidas players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
