David Magalhães charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Raul Valente was left in no man's land by his defense there! Through an outstanding action, after 18 minutes, Raul Valente successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Raul Valente came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Novelhos's Ricardo Sá. But to his dismay, Ricardo Sá quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. After a rather tough play, Novelhos's Nuno Leite got a free kick in the 27th minute. In the 27th minute of the match José Nascimento shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lúcio Ferreira showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Sandro Almeida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cláudio Dias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raul Valente having to interfere. Cláudio Dias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Raul Valente tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristiano Reis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cristiano Reis was the one to do the kick off. Novelhos's Lúcio Ferreira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Novelhos from getting a goal against them. In the 57th minute Cristiano Reis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raul Valente saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 61 minutes into the game, Albertino Mota was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Serraquinhos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Novelhos the free kick. Albertino Mota kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Cláudio Dias managed to get in a good position for a shot. Novelhos's supporters rose to their feet, but Cláudio Dias was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Raul Valente breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 68 minutes, Cláudio Dias managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Novelhos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cláudio Dias was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Cristiano Reis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Novelhos's Cláudio Dias got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 74th minute, Cristiano Reis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Raul Valente was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Novelhos's Lúcio Ferreira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Novelhos from getting a goal against them. In the 81st minute, Amílcar Machado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpected shot in the 89th minute by Amílcar Machado got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Amílcar Machado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lúcio Ferreira having to interfere. 94 minutes into the match, Novelhos's goalkeeper Lúcio Ferreira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Amílcar Machado. Lúcio Ferreira was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Amílcar Machado showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-1 in the 94 minute of play.
