Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Luís Santarém got the match started through his kick off. Miguel Barbosa's late challenge caught a Madeiros's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Miguel Barbosa helped the player get up and apologised. Cristóvão Azevedo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lúcio Resende having to make a save. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Messines FC's goalkeeper Lúcio Resende, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 18th minute, Luís Santarém got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Madeiros's Álvaro Antunes got a free kick in the 19th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Madeiros's zone, Gabriel Brás stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gustavo Matos came out of the goal and Gabriel Brás tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Álvaro Antunes hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Jorge Simões sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Messines FC's zone, Cristóvão Azevedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lúcio Resende came out of the goal and Cristóvão Azevedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
Luís Santarém recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Messines FC's Lúcio Resende played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorge Simões in the 54th minute of play. Jorge Simões sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Madeiros's Cristóvão Azevedo got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 60 minutes into the game, Xavier Simões was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Messines FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Madeiros the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 59th minute of the game. One of Messines FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Madeiros:s goal. In the 61st minute there was a penalty for Madeiros. Cláudio Carneiro stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Lúcio Resende. 2-1. 64 minutes into the match, Madeiros's Cristóvão Azevedo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lúcio Resende narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gabriel Bráss short, quick shot in the 66thth minute got Gustavo Matos to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Cristóvão Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luís Santarém fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustavo Matos having to interfere. Messines FC's Luís Santarém got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 85 minutes into the match, Gabriel Brás dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Gustavo Matos, 2-2. Álvaro Antunes kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Madeiros succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Messines FC had controlled the match.
