Manuel Vieira hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. If Cristóvão Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Henrique Fonseca got free in front of the goal in the 9th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Gustavo Matos was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 12 minutes into the match, Madeiros's Jorge Simões sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that João Santos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 12 minutes into the game, Cláudio Fonseca was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Nespereira's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Madeiros the free kick. Cláudio Fonseca kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Cristóvão Azevedo might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over João Santos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristóvão Azevedo ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 15 minutes, Álvaro Antunes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Madeiros's supporters crossed their fingers, but Álvaro Antunes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 16 played minutes, Madeiros's Cláudio Carneiro shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper João Santos came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Madeiros reached it. During the 20th minute of the match Cláudio Fonseca completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Cláudio Fonseca a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Cláudio Fonseca hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. João Santos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cristóvão Azevedo's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. Cristiano Leite received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Gustavo Matos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 31st match minute, SC Nespereira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alberto Branco to maneuver through the defense. Álvaro Antunes kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. 45 minutes into the match, SC Nespereira's goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Simões came free, but João Santos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 47 minutes into the match, Madeiros's goalkeeper Gustavo Matos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristiano Leite. Madeiros's Cláudio Carneiro was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but João Santos in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cristóvão Azevedo made a kick off. A collision led to Madeiros getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. The supporters of Madeiros booed when SC Nespereira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberto Branco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jorge Simões sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 74th minute, Jorge Simões left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Madeiros fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Gustavo Matos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristiano Leite in the 79th minute of the match. Henrique Fonseca took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gustavo Matos. Gustavo Matos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Rafael Esteves kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. The supporters of Madeiros booed when SC Nespereira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henrique Fonseca didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 99 minutes, Cristiano Leite mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Nespereira and the Madeiros players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, SC Nespereira's Cristiano Leite got a free kick in the 99th minute. SC Nespereira were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Madeiros for a fine match.
