Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. With a little luck, Milhao's Tiago Queirós got control of the ball when Gabriel Brás tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 12th minute Rodrigo Guarda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lúcio Resende saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Afonso Moutinho in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lúcio Resende prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Rodrigo Guarda's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lúcio Resende was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. Gabriel Brás's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tiago Queirós read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. When Lourenço Morais fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Messines FC's protests and gave Lourenço Morais a yellow card for diving instead. In the 22nd minute, Lourenço Morais hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 23rd minute, Adolfo Garcia sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Messines FC's Lúcio Resende didn't even have to move. Rafael Garcia kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Afonso Moutinho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Milhao's supporters rose to their feet, but Afonso Moutinho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lúcio Resende breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 30 minutes into the match, Gabriel Brás dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Tiago Queirós, 1-0. If Rodrigo Guarda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Afonso Moutinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lúcio Resende having to interfere. Luís Santarém's late challenge caught a Milhao's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luís Santarém helped the player get up and apologised. Luís Santarém kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

After a rather tough play, Milhao's Daniel Neto got a free kick in the 51st minute. Milhao's Tiago Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Santarém in the 53rd minute of play. 54 minutes into the match, Gabriel Brás notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Milhao's Tiago Queirós. Tiago Queirós was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 58 played minutes, Messines FC's Cristiano Torres shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tiago Queirós came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Messines FC reached it. Rodrigo Guarda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Afonso Moutinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lúcio Resende having to interfere. Rafael Garcia hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Lourenço Morais recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rodrigo Guarda's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Lúcio Resende firmly grabbed it by the left post. Rodrigo Guarda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lúcio Resende having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rodrigo Guarda got free with Lúcio Resende in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Milhao's Tiago Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabriel Brás in the 96th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Messines FC had won after a very even match.
