The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. João Neto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Ferro in the 10th minute of play. The supporters of Calicos FC booed when Represas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artur Dantas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luís Valente's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 28thth minute, João Neto skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 34 minutes into the game, Carlos Azevedo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. After having played for 47 minutes, Ricardo Borba managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Represas FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ricardo Borba was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luís Ferro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Óscar Correia got free with Fernando Pinho in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 53rd match minute, Calicos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lúcio Sá to maneuver through the defense. In the 55th match minute, Calicos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Cardoso to maneuver through the defense. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Adelino Matias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the match was over Represas FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Calicos FC throughout the match.
