Óscar Pires showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorge Pereira in the 6th minute of the match. Duarte Queirós sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Duarte Queirós got free with Óscar Pires in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Basílio Amorim might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alberto Esteves. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Basílio Amorim ran back to his position shaking his head. Basílio Amorim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alberto Esteves having to interfere. After 23 played minutes Menexas got a freekick which was hit by Nuno Luz. After 24 minutes, João Anjos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Menexas and the Chavao players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 25 played minutes Menexas got a freekick which was hit by João Anjos. Alberto Esteves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Basílio Amorim, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Joel Leão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alberto Esteves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Leão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Basílio Amorim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Alberto Esteves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 35th match minute, Menexas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nuno Luz to maneuver through the defense. In the 37th minute, Nuno Luz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Chavao's Joel Leão in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Menexas's goalie prevented a goal. Basílio Amorim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alberto Esteves having to interfere. After 41 played minutes Menexas got a freekick which was hit by Nuno Luz. 43 minutes into the match, Menexas's goal looked a bit too open when Basílio Amorim came free, but Alberto Esteves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Francisco Barros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Alberto Esteves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joel Leão to make the kick off. Óscar Pires stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jorge Pereira's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. 57 minutes into the match, Chavao's goal looked a bit too open when Duarte Queirós came free, but Óscar Pires reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Chavao's Simão Gaspar shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 65th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Alberto Esteves but with some difficulty. In the 67th minute, Chavao's Basílio Amorim ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Alberto Esteves. Alberto Esteves yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-1. Menexas's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Joel Leão 70 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-2. After 74 played minutes Chavao got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Teixeira. Óscar Pires showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorge Pereira in the 79th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Chavao's Sérgio Guerreiro got a free kick in the 80th minute. Duarte Queirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Óscar Pires having to interfere. Menexas's Jorge Pereira got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 96th minute, Jorge Pereira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Óscar Pires was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. The Menexas supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Chavao's performance. The match ended with a win for Chavao.
