After 2 played minutes Carapereiro got a freekick which was hit by Gil Marques. Amadeu Paiva charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Amadeu Paiva the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Amadeu Paiva hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. When Oliveira Gomes fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pombares FC's protests and gave Oliveira Gomes a yellow card for diving instead. In the 5th match minute, Pombares FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oliveira Gomes to maneuver through the defense. Pombares FC's Paulo Baptista proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Pombares FC from getting a goal against them. After having played for 13 minutes, Eusébio Dias managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carapereiro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eusébio Dias was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 14 played minutes Carapereiro got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Faro. After having played for 17 minutes, Eusébio Moniz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pombares FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eusébio Moniz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 19th minute Oliveira Gomes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafael Mota saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Oliveira Gomes struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Rafael Mota didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pombares FC. In the 23rd minute, Joel Leiria hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pombares FC's Manuel Dantas couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 24th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Carapereiro. Rafael Mota showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oliveira Gomes in the 26th minute of the match. Eusébio Dias came free with the goalkeeper in the 28th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Paulo Baptista could save by the left post. Eusébio Moniz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rafael Mota having to make a save. If Eusébio Dias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Armindo Miranda hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. In the 45th minute, Eusébio Dias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bruno Porto during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Pombares FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 53rd minute. Penalty! In the 55th minute there was a penalty for Carapereiro. Lúcio Setúbal stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Paulo Baptista. 1-0. Paulo Baptista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eusébio Dias, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. In the 62nd minute, Eusébio Dias made a precise shot to the right of Paulo Baptista. Pombares FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. After 66 played minutes Pombares FC got a freekick which was hit by David Martins. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eusébio Moniz got free with Rafael Mota in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Oliveira Gomes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Carapereiro's goalkeeper Rafael Mota, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 81 minutes, Eusébio Moniz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pombares FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eusébio Moniz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rafael Mota made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Eusébio Moniz sent off a good shot on target. In the 90th minute, Eusébio Dias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Carapereiro's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Lúcio Setúbal in the 94th minute. When Carapereiro's Amadeu Paiva in the 95th minute got a chance for a shot 95th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Pombares FC's goalie prevented a goal. Amadeu Paiva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Paulo Baptista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gil Marques's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Paulo Baptista read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 101st minute of play. Carapereiro were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Pombares FC for a fine match.
