The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cabomonte's Delfim Aleixo got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Manuel Pinho's late challenge caught a Cabomonte's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Manuel Pinho helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Espirra FC's Manuel Pinho got a free kick in the 26th minute. Ricardo Lisboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Filipe Branco in the 33rd minute of the match. In the 35th match minute, Espirra FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manuel Pinho to maneuver through the defense. Joaquim Gomes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Xavier Rocha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell João Resende to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Espirra FC's goal looked a bit too open when Joaquim Gomes came free, but Xavier Rocha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joaquim Gomes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xavier Rocha having to interfere. 63 minutes into the match, Cabomonte's goal looked a bit too open when João Resende came free, but Ricardo Lisboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 69 minutes into the game, Filipe Branco cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Ricardo Lisboa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 73rd minute Delfim Aleixo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xavier Rocha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Joaquim Gomes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Xavier Rocha was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. Through an outstanding action, after 75 minutes, Ricardo Lisboa successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Cabomonte's Ricardo Lisboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Resende in the 80th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers João Resende in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ricardo Lisboa saved Cabomonte from getting behind. The audience was convinced that João Resende's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ricardo Lisboa was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. Filipe Branco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 89th match minute, Cabomonte was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Afonso Bessa to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 92 minutes, João Resende took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Ricardo Lisboa to make any attempt to save it.
