Abel Sousa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Gil Pinto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Erra FC booed when SC Boavista was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Porto didn't get a good kick on the ball. 11 minutes into the match, Erra FC's Alberto Silva broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abel Sousa in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gil Pinto saved SC Boavista from getting behind. A collision led to Erra FC getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Alberto Silva hit a great ball. Alfredo Cabral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Sá, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Erra FC's Abel Sousa got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 30th minute Abel Sousa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gil Pinto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abel Sousa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gil Pinto having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Abel Sousa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gil Pinto was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. After 37 played minutes SC Boavista got a freekick which was hit by João Porto. Erra FC's Abel Sousa got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

Heitor Freitas hit a great ball. After having played for 59 minutes, Luís Cruz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Boavista's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Cruz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Abel Sousa was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 71st minute. Erra FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After a rather tough play, SC Boavista's Rui Ferreira got a free kick in the 71st minute. SC Boavista's Luís Cruz got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Luís Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
