David Pedroso charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed David Pedroso the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Penteado FC getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. David Pedroso hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Domingos Mota managed to get in a good position for a shot. Canhoes's supporters rose to their feet, but Domingos Mota was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Sousa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. José Sousa made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Domingos Mota sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Canhoes booed when Penteado FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Pedroso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pedro Castro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristiano Amaral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. José Sousa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Domingos Mota in the 14th minute. After having played for 17 minutes, Domingos Mota managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Canhoes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Domingos Mota was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Canhoes booed when Penteado FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Pedroso didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Cristiano Amaral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Mário Neves fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Canhoes's protests and gave Mário Neves a yellow card for diving instead. Mário Neves kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Pedro Castro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Cruz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Joel Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vítor Garcia struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. José Sousa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Canhoes. The supporters of Canhoes booed when Penteado FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joel Cruz didn't get a good kick on the ball. 48 minutes into the match, Penteado FC's goalkeeper José Sousa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lucas Gomes.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Cruz made a kick off. Cristiano Amaral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Castro having to interfere. José Pacheco kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. In the 61st minute Vítor Garcia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Sousa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 73rd minute, Vítor Garcia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vítor Garcia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. José Sousa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 83rd minute, Delfim Luz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alexandre Guarda took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 85th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for José Sousa. Penteado FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vítor Garcia in the 90th minute of play forced Penteado FC's goalkeeper José Sousa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. José Sousa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Domingos Mota, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Domingos Mota in the 94th minute of play forced Penteado FC's goalkeeper José Sousa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lucas Gomes kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match.
