In the 9th match minute, Canhoes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vítor Garcia to maneuver through the defense. 11 minutes into the game, Carroqueiro FC's Vítor Amaro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pedro Castro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After a rather tough play, Canhoes's Lucas Gomes got a free kick in the 17th minute. Carroqueiro FC's Oliveira Delgado couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 17th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Canhoes. Pedro Castro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gil Azevedo's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. With his leg Pedro Castro managed to avoid a goal in the 21stth minute, when Carroqueiro FC's Vítor Amaro fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Pedro Castro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vítor Amaro in the 23rd minute. Domingos Mota received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Humberto Antunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Humberto Antunes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vítor Garcia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pedro Castro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gil Azevedo in the 32nd minute of play. In the 35th minute of the match Alexandre Guarda shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Humberto Antunes showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After having played for 38 minutes, Gil Azevedo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carroqueiro FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gil Azevedo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vítor Amaro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Humberto Antunes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vítor Garcia, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. José Pacheco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Domingos Mota fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Humberto Antunes having to interfere. In the 69th minute, Canhoes's Vítor Garcia dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. In the 75th minute, Vítor Amaro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Gil Azevedo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carroqueiro FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gil Azevedo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Castro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gil Azevedo in the 79th minute of play forced Canhoes's goalkeeper Pedro Castro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 84 minutes, Domingos Mota made it 1-4 with a short kick to the right side. Carroqueiro FC's Humberto Antunes tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 88th match minute, Canhoes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jaime Moura to maneuver through the defense. Pedro Castro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gil Azevedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vítor Garcia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Canhoes supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Canhoes would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
