With a left leg Rui Pinto saved SC Abelhal from getting behind. Júlio Moreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Coitada booed when SC Abelhal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nuno Valente didn't get a good kick on the ball. 15 minutes into the match, João Rocha had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rui Pinto. SC Abelhal's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that João Rocha was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nuno Esteves got free with Pedro Trindade in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nuno Esteves struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Pedro Trindade didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Abelhal. 22 minutes into the match, Coitada's goalkeeper Pedro Trindade had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nuno Esteves. Pedro Trindade showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miguel Viegas in the 28th minute of the match. SC Abelhal's Rui Pinto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Rocha in the 30th minute of play. In the 35th minute João Rocha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rui Pinto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Coitada's André Baptista suffered a concussion in the 36th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Fernando Reis's late challenge caught a Coitada's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fernando Reis helped the player get up and apologised. 41 minutes into the match, Coitada's goalkeeper Pedro Trindade had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nuno Esteves. After the first half Coitada were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Nuno Esteves kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Fábio Reis charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fábio Reis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Coitada's Fábio Reis got a free kick in the 54th minute. Pedro Trindade made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Viegas in the 58th minute of play. After 59 played minutes Coitada got a freekick which was hit by Júlio Moreira. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Nuno Esteves managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Abelhal's supporters rose to their feet, but Nuno Esteves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Trindade breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nuno Esteves's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Trindade read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. Miguel Viegas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Trindade having to interfere. João Rocha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rui Pinto having to interfere. In the 74th minute, Júlio Moreira fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. João Rocha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 79 minutes, João Rocha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Coitada's supporters crossed their fingers, but João Rocha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. João Rocha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rui Pinto having to interfere. Delfim Matias kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. In the 91st minute, João Rocha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Fábio Reis was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 93 minutes had been played. In the 94th minute, Fábio Reis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Miguel Viegas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Trindade having to interfere.
