That made the score 1-0 in the 5 minute of play. David Freitas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Viegas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Américo Mendes's late challenge caught a SC Abelhal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Américo Mendes helped the player get up and apologised. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Nuno Esteves managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Abelhal's supporters rose to their feet, but Nuno Esteves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. David Freitas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emanuel Borba got free with Rui Pinto in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 19 minutes, Óscar Nogueira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Fontao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Óscar Nogueira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Emanuel Borba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rui Pinto having to interfere. After a rather tough play, SC Abelhal's Sérgio Pereira got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Daniel Aleixo, 24 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Nuno Esteves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, SC Fontao's Daniel Aleixo got a free kick in the 27th minute. If Miguel Viegas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Miguel Viegas made a kick off. After having played for 54 minutes, Nuno Esteves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Abelhal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nuno Esteves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 59 minutes, Fernando Reis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Abelhal and the SC Fontao players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 59th minute, Fernando Reis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Óscar Nogueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Óscar Nogueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the SC Abelhal defense, Óscar Nogueira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rui Pinto. The SC Abelhal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rui Pinto should have stopped the shot. If Óscar Nogueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Óscar Nogueira in the 84th minute of play forced SC Abelhal's goalkeeper Rui Pinto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. David Freitas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nuno Esteves went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Rui Pinto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Óscar Nogueira in the 92nd minute of play. In the 94th minute, Eusébio Henriques hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. SC Fontao were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of SC Abelhal for a fine match.
