Afonso Pires charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Afonso Pires the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Pessolta booed when SC Briteiros was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Afonso Pires didn't get a good kick on the ball. It was a well-played corner which Henrique Magalhães managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Oliveira Gonçalves's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alberto Lima read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. If Oliveira Gonçalves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Oliveira Gonçalves stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Afonso Pires sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Oliveira Gonçalves blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alberto Lima having to make a save. Oliveira Gonçalves succeeded in the game's 81st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oliveira Gonçalves in the 93rd minute of play forced SC Briteiros's goalkeeper Alberto Lima to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Oliveira Gonçalves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match was over Pessolta could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than SC Briteiros throughout the match.
