When Tiago Nunes fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Beca's protests and gave Tiago Nunes a yellow card for diving instead. SC Beca's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Braga the free kick. In the 58th minute, Miguel Queirós hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. SC Beca's Tiago Nunes got his second yellow card of the match in the 63rd minute. The referee ordered Tiago Nunes off the ground. If Vicente Freitas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, SC Beca's Vítor Simões got control of the ball when Vicente Freitas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gabriel Cruz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vítor Simões read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. After 85 played minutes SC Beca got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Machado. Vicente Freitas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
