Bernardo Esteves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hélder Carvalho in the 22nd minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Chelas's Gabriel Soares threw himself towards the right post 26 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Rogério Cruz, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Gabriel Soares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rogério Cruz in the 28th minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 38th minute by Rogério Cruz got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Pardieiros's Hélder Carvalho got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hélder Carvalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardo Esteves having to interfere. Hélder Carvalho struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Bernardo Esteves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pardieiros. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rogério Cruz made a kick off. Hélder Carvalho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Bernardo Esteves made a huge save. 65 minutes into the match, Pardieiros's goal looked a bit too open when Emílio Maia came free, but Gabriel Soares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 70 minutes into the match, Domingos Garcia dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Bernardo Esteves, 0-1. If Domingos Garcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bernardo Esteves was a little too slow when Hélder Carvalho got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 76th minute. The score was now 0-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rogério Cruz in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gabriel Soares saved Pardieiros from getting behind. In the 84thth minute of the game Domingos Garcia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chelas's Bernardo Esteves was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The Pardieiros supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Pardieiros would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
