Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Heitor Baptista made the kick off which started today's match. After a defensive mix-up in Chelas's zone, Rui Barbosa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernardo Esteves came out of the goal and Rui Barbosa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rogério Cruz in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Inácio Borba saved Carmo FC from getting behind. Heitor Baptista got in the 14th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Bernardo Esteves handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. The supporters of Chelas booed when Carmo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rui Gonçalves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Inácio Borba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rogério Cruz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emílio Maia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Inácio Borba tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 29th minute, Heitor Baptista reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Bernardo Esteves. The goal made the score 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rogério Cruz in the 32nd minute of play forced Carmo FC's goalkeeper Inácio Borba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Inácio Borba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rogério Cruz in the 34th minute of play. In the 36th match minute, Carmo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernando Oliveira to maneuver through the defense. 39 minutes into the match, Rogério Cruz notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Carmo FC's Inácio Borba. Inácio Borba was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Inácio Borba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emílio Maia, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. After 48 minutes, Daniel Rodrigues mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chelas and the Carmo FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 49th match minute, Chelas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Rodrigues to maneuver through the defense. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rogério Cruz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 53 minutes, Emílio Maia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chelas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emílio Maia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 55 minutes into the game, Emílio Maia recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Inácio Borba. Emílio Maia showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. In the 58th minute, Daniel Rodrigues hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 63 minutes into the match, Rui Barbosa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bernardo Esteves. Chelas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rui Barbosa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Bernardo Esteves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rui Barbosa in the 71st minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adolfo Ribeiro during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 76 minutes into the game, one of Chelas:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 81st of the match, Rogério Cruz tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Inácio Borba got in the way and made a wonderful save. Bernardo Esteves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rui Barbosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. 92 minutes into the match, David Dantas sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Inácio Borba threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for David Dantas this time. If Rogério Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
