Albertino Trindade might have been able to make a better finish in the 5th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fábio Baptista. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Albertino Trindade ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 9 minutes, Alexandre Rodrigues managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tostao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexandre Rodrigues was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Tostao's Basílio Machado got a free kick in the 15th minute. In the 19th minute Jaime Neto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Aleixo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Afonso Costa hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Adolfo Miranda in the 31stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Paulo Aleixo, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Thanks to some nice moves Adolfo Miranda could shoot a difficult shot in the 32nd minute, which Paulo Aleixo however easily saved by the left post. Adolfo Miranda took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Paulo Aleixo. Paulo Aleixo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Adolfo Miranda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Aleixo having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jaime Neto was the one to do the kick off. When the match clock showed 52 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Jaime Neto sped through Tostao's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Paulo Aleixo. Ricardo Aguiar hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. The long shot by Viriato Faria in the 56th minute really tested Fábio Baptista's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Jaime Neto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of Catasol booed when Tostao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albertino Trindade didn't get a good kick on the ball. Catasol's Adolfo Miranda got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jaime Neto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 73 minutes into the game, Jaime Neto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Paulo Aleixo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Adolfo Miranda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Aleixo having to interfere. Basílio Machado kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Alexandre Rodrigues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 82 minutes into the match, Catasol's goal looked a bit too open when Cristiano Leal came free, but Fábio Baptista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 85 minutes of play Catasol's Sérgio Assis was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. If Alexandre Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristiano Leal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. For all the effort they put into the match, the Tostao players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Catasol.
