Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Domingos Araújo started the match with the kick off. After 3 played minutes Bruno Sá rounded SC Delgada's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. Álvaro Magalhães sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Américo Borba kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Domingos Araújo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Óscar Resende having to interfere. 17 minutes into the match, Álvaro Magalhães notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Tinalhas FC's Óscar Resende. Óscar Resende was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Heitor Rocha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Óscar Marques tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Gil Amaro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tinalhas FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gil Amaro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Óscar Marques breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 32nd minute, Domingos Araújo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Carlos Ramos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Jaime Porto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 54 played minutes, Tinalhas FC's Albertino Matias shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Óscar Marques came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Tinalhas FC reached it. After some careless play in the Tinalhas FC defense, Álvaro Magalhães kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Óscar Resende. The Tinalhas FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Óscar Resende should have stopped the shot. 61 minutes into the match, Tinalhas FC's goal looked a bit too open when Domingos Araújo came free, but Óscar Resende reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Óscar Marques showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Heitor Rocha, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. In the 71st minute Carlos Ramos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Óscar Marques saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 73rd minute, Carlos Ramos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Álvaro Magalhães might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Óscar Resende. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Álvaro Magalhães ran back to his position shaking his head. 76 minutes into the game, Domingos Araújo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Óscar Resende. Domingos Araújo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Domingos Araújo in the 84th minute of play forced Tinalhas FC's goalkeeper Óscar Resende to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Heitor Rocha's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Óscar Marques read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. Álvaro Magalhães took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Óscar Resende. Óscar Resende dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-4. The SC Delgada supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SC Delgada would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
