Rafael Gomes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raul Mota having to interfere. Jorge Carneiro was slow to take the kick. During this time Coelheiras's players had a chance to rest. An unexpectedly hard shot by Inácio Guerreiro in the 17th minute of play forced SC Contraste's goalkeeper Amadeu Barbosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Inácio Guerreiro struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Amadeu Barbosa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Coelheiras. 46 minutes into the match, SC Contraste's Mariano Sousa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Raul Mota narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mariano Sousa made a kick off. SC Contraste's Amadeu Barbosa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Inácio Guerreiro in the 53rd minute of play. Diamantino Santarém might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Amadeu Barbosa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Diamantino Santarém ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of SC Contraste booed when Coelheiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Leiria didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Coelheiras's Raul Mota got control of the ball when Diamantino Araújo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mariano Sousa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Raul Mota tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 88th minute Inácio Guerreiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amadeu Barbosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. SC Contraste's Amadeu Barbosa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diamantino Santarém in the 90th minute of play. 92 minutes into the game, one of Coelheiras:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Coelheiras:s Raul Mota showed great skill when he stopped Lucas Morais:s penalty. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
