Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Carlos Queirós started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Lourenço Porto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Queirós, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. 9 minutes into the game, Lúcio Ribeiro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Pedro Trindade was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 12 minutes into the match, SC Atafona's goal looked a bit too open when Oliveira Sousa came free, but Lourenço Porto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 13th minute, Carlos Queirós left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Monteiras fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. 16 minutes into the match, Monteiras's goal looked a bit too open when Lúcio Ribeiro came free, but Pedro Trindade reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With his leg Pedro Trindade managed to avoid a goal in the 20thth minute, when SC Atafona's Joaquim Garcia fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 22nd minute, Oliveira Sousa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lúcio Ribeiro in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pedro Trindade saved Monteiras from getting behind. 29 minutes into the match, SC Atafona's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Queirós came free, but Lourenço Porto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. SC Atafona's Lourenço Porto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oliveira Sousa in the 32nd minute of play. Oliveira Sousa might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lourenço Porto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Oliveira Sousa ran back to his position shaking his head. When Marco Leal fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Atafona's protests and gave Marco Leal a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Monteiras booed when SC Atafona was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marco Leal didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 34th minute of the match Hélder Ribeiro sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lourenço Porto skillfully saved the ball. José Fernandes charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed José Fernandes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 35th match minute, SC Atafona was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Fernandes to maneuver through the defense. If Carlos Queirós had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oliveira Sousa kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lúcio Ribeiro to make the kick off. Lourenço Porto made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Oliveira Sousa sent off a good shot on target. In the 77th minute of the match António Anjos sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Pedro Trindade skillfully saved the ball. After 79 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Monteiras! In the 81st minute there was a penalty for SC Atafona. Domingos Henriques stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Pedro Trindade. 2-3. If Carlos Queirós had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Monteiras walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
